and Raphael (8 years)

After graduation in St.Moritz, Thomas Schraemli went through an apprenticeship as a chef at the Parkhotel Kurhaus, today’s Kempinski. His later armamentarium to become a splendid chef and a smart hotelier was gathered in various reputable enterprises. First as “Commis de cuisine” and then as “Chef de partie” in different positions, he acquired a wide knowledge of the warm and cold cuisine. His professional career lead him to famous hotels such as “Hotel Atlantis Sheraton” in Zurich, “Intercontinental” and “Du Rhône” in Geneva and “Suvretta House” in St. Moritz. In the meantime, he attended the hotel college in Thun, where he got a higher degree in hospitality. Further, he spent several months in San Francisco to study English.

Before he and his wife, whom he by the way met working at his parents’ hotel in St. Moritz, ventured on an own hotel, he rounded his experience in the hotel business up as F & B manager, head waiter and assistant manager in different hotels and restaurants, such as “Mariott” and “Hotel zum Storchen” in Zurich and “Schloss Wülflingen” in Winterthur.

The first own business was the Restaurant Höhwald in Klosters Monbiel, where he and his wife were tenants for seven years. From May 2003 till April 2008 Thomas and Susanne Schraemli were the tenants of the ***Hotel-Restaurant Büel in Klosters Dorf. His wife Susanne is a very competent and adept partner at his side, who looks after the service and office. Two chirpy boys, called Matthias and Raphael emanate from their marriage.
